Top Four Draw
Stalemate between Les Dodd “B” at home against league leaders Crosby Comrades with a drawn result. Messrs Hartley, Tyndall and Hopwood winning for the home side. Mark standing out with his demolition of Ian Murray. Rob Radford, Anthony Mackay and Robbie Wilson winning for the visitors. Robbie was put under pressure by A. Danks but managed a black ball win.
There was another draw at the Cons Club derby. Graham Clark v Alan Corlett appeared to be no contest looking at the score line and a 42 break from Graham for good measure. Brian Kenyon and Ian Barnes dispatched Keith Turner and Tom Tickle respectively, with a 35 break from Ian. Close contest between Richard Bell and Mark Bellas with Mark winning out. Good win from Alan Parker who seems to be on his game. New signing Graham Booth playing his debut game beat Ali Tyrer.
Our Ladys “A” managed 4-2 win away to Brook Club. Trevor Kinlay and Chris Hannon replied for the home side. Trevor potted a tremendous black down the rail to beat Peter Kershaw. Phil Harbon made a contest of it but lost out to Jimmy Tristram.
Our Ladys “B” lost 4-2 at home against Legion “C” Andy Hesketh and Dudley Lidiard the home side winners. Phil Kershaw just lost out on the black to Terry Barlow. Good win for Terry. Colin and Peter Bennett aided by Ray Lavelle the other winners for Legion “C” It is hard to believe this side is bottom of the league!
Les Dodd “A” notched up another win against Ince Club playing at home. Mark and Mike Pope the home side winners. Good win from Kevin Petford against A. Rogers. Skipper Frank Bradley also winning one of his rare appearances these days.
The final match of the week saw Holy Trinity beat Legion “B” 4-2 away. Chris Howard and Dave Rimmer won for the home side. Colin Robertson in a close encounter with Gary Rimmer but won on the black. Good win for Kenny Woodward against the useful Carl Finlayson.
Crosby Comrades now four points clear of Cons Club “B” and Les Dodd “B” in joint second place. The other nearest contender is Cons Club “A” separated by one point.
