Crosby Comrades beat Brook Club 6-0 increasing their margin as league leader to 5 points.Convincing wins all round. Neil Farrington standing out with breaks of 36-22 almost making the ton against Brook star Phil Harbon.
Our Ladys A at home against Legion B ended with honours shared 3-3. Frank Houghton for the home side put up a spirited performance against Mark Rimmer but missed an easy blue that probably cost him the game. Good result for Bill Clare against Gary Rimmer with some clever return safety from Bill. Carl Finlayson had his chances against Jimmy Tristram but failed to grasp the nettle.
Con Club A lost 4-2 at home to Les Dodd B. A 34 break from Mark Bellas was not enough to defeat Paddy Tyndall. Good win from Alan Parker defeating Dave Hartley, who has been playing well. Tom Tickle must have had his rose coloured specs on when he potted two consecutive reds particularly as he was 30 in front at the time! (I did that once years ago Tom). This win moves the Princes Street team into second place 4 points behind Crosby Comrades.
Les Dodd A lost 4-2 at home to Con Club B. Despite a 40 break from Andrew Kenyon he lost the frame to Kevin Petford. Brian Kenyon won on the black against Graham Marshall. Stuart Forrester won well against Ali Tyrer. The match could easily have been a draw.
Holy Trinity at home to Our Ladys B was a 4-2 win for the home side. Colin Watterson and Phil Kershaw replied for the visitors beating Tom and John Sanders respectively. James Holman and Luke Palethorpe the high scorers for Holy Trinity.
Legion C v Ince Club was postponed due to a bereavement. Next week week sees the second round of the Mac & Jack team pairs competition.
