Clark Ends Tyndall's Run
Crosby Comrades the only team to score a perfect six in the Formby & District League last week beating Les Dodd “A” 6-0.
The Princess Street team put up a strong fight with many of the games decided on the pink or black. Rob Radford had to clear from green to overcome Dan Matthews on the black. Breaks of 30 and 22 from Formby champion Robbie Wilson against Stuart Forrester. Kevin Petford had a 23 break but lost to Anthony Mackay on the black.Good result for Comrades who now go 8 points clear of their nearest rival. Impressive challenge by the Doddy men.
Con Club “B” at home drew to Les Dodd “B” Graham Clark showing his class ending the unbeaten run of thirteen matches for Paddy Tyndall with a convincing win.Jamie Rae also had a comfortable win over Ali Tyrer. 23 break from Ian Barnes en route to beating Dave Hartley, who had a 24 himself.
Ince Club beat the Brook Club 4-2. Trevor Kinley (26 break ) and James Kilduff replied for the visitors. Brook star Phil Harbon beaten by zero handicapped Steve Evans Phil Fellows beat Chris Reynolds on the black.
Con Club “A” at home beat Holy Trinity 5-1. Luke Palethorpe replied for the visitors beating Graham Booth to save the whitewash. This win moves Con Club “A” into second place to Comrades.
Our Ladys “B” playing at home lost 4-2 to Legion “B”. Phil Kershaw and Roger Wilkins won black fights for the home side pipping Carl Finlayson and Gordon Dale respectively. Harry Boydell had a 20 on his way to beating Graham Platt.
Legion “C” at home beat Our Ladys “A” 4-2. The Bennett brothers beating John Mycek and Bill Clare convincingly with a 28 break from Peter against Bill. Ray Lavelle Likewise beat Jim Tristram in convincing manner. Alan Morris the other winner beating Gerry Murch. Ian Dickinson and Peter Kershaw saved some face for the visitors beating Trevor Lynch and George Howells respectively.
Crosby Comrades have now opened up their lead to eight points and will take some catching now! Fair play to them they took the lead from week one and have never lost that position.
