Good Start for Comrades
First week of the second half in Formby & District Snooker League and Crosby Comrades increased their lead by two points scoring a perfect 6-0 against Our Ladys “B” Breaks of 25 from Anthony Mackay 22 from Rob Radford and 22 from Norman Lee.
Les Dodd “B” at home defeated Brook Club 4-2. with breaks of 37-35 from Mark Hopwood. 31 Trevor Kinley,Dave Hartley 28 and 22-20 from Phil Harbon. James Kilduff made a good show against Paddy Tyndall only losing by 13 points.
Con Club “A” away to Legion “C” won 4-2. Alan Morris and Trevor Lynch the home side winners beating Keith Turner and Tom Tickle respectively. Close game between Mike Radcliffe and Alan Corlett with Alan winning on the black.
Honours shared between Holy Trinity and Les Dodd “A” Kevin Petford, Dan Matthews and Graham Marshall winning for the vivitors. Luke Palethorpe, John Sanders and Colin Robertson the home side victors. A particularly good win for Dan Matthews polishing off the very useful James Holman.
Con Club “B” won at home beating Legion “C” 4-2. Carl Finlayson starred for the visitors overcoming Ali Tyrer. Breaks of 27-23 from Graham Clark and 24 from Ian Barnes.
Ince Club v Our Ladys “A” was a 5-1 win for Our Ladys “A”. Roger Cashen prevented the whitewash beating Mike McNamara by a decent margin. The other wins were all fairly convincing, Mark Pope had a good chance to win by clearing the last four colours but a missed brown cost him the frame.A rare appearance from El Warren for Our Ladys. He won as well!
Since the last report Our Ladys “B” emerged winners of the Mac & Jack Team Pairs Handicap beating Holy Trinity in the Final. They only dropped 20 points of their handicap on the first two frames. This left Holy Trinity going into the final frame with a 70 point deficit. Well done Our Ladys “B”. Next years handicap will no doubt reflect your success!
